The Challenge

Designing the interface for the application presented several challenges, primarily due to introducing users to the new experience of utilizing 360 cameras. One significant hurdle was developing intuitive mechanics for users to define surveillance zones effectively with the camera. This required careful consideration of user-friendly controls and clear visual feedback to ensure ease of use.

Another challenge was implementing features for viewing video histories, allowing users to review past footage captured by the cameras. This involved designing an interface that enables seamless navigation through recorded content, with options for filtering and searching to facilitate efficient retrieval of specific footage.

Furthermore, incorporating notification systems to alert users about events detected by the cameras posed additional complexities. Designing notification mechanisms that effectively communicate the nature of events while minimizing user disruption required thoughtful consideration of notification formats, frequency, and customization options to accommodate varying user preferences.

Balancing the introduction of innovative features with the need for intuitive usability was essential to ensure a positive user experience and maximize the app's effectiveness in enhancing home security and surveillance.
